Synopsis:
The story of RED CLIFF takes place in 208 AD in China during the Han Dynasty when the country was divided into many warring states. Ambitious Prime Minister Cao Cao, with the ultimate goal of wiping out all the kingdoms and becoming emperor of a unified China, waged war on a kingdom in the west. The kingdom of the west, ruled by the emperor’s uncle, Lui Bei, formed an alliance with the kingdom of the south. An enraged Cao Cao travels south to Red Cliff on the Yangtze river with an army of eight hundred thousand soldiers and two thousand ships. Vastly outnumbered the allies seem doomed, but using their combined wisdom are able turn the tide of war. Numerous battles of wits and forces, on land and on water, eventually culminate in the most famous battle in Chinese history, where two thousand ships were burned, and the course of China’s history was changed forever.
